Sebastian Gorka
Deputy Assistant to the President, United States 

Dr. Sebastian Gorka currently serves in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President. 

He formerly served as Chairman of Threat Knowledge Group, where he provided training and expertise to the law enforcement, military and intelligence communities, and as the Distinguished Chair of Military Theory at Marine Corps University. In 2012 he was awarded the Joint Civilian Service Commendation by US Special Operations Command for his work supporting SOCOM. 

Born in the United Kingdom to parents who fled from communist Hungary, Sebastian served as a reserve member of the British Army’s Intelligence and Security Group (V), and now he is a U.S. citizen. Dr. Gorka was Associate Dean for Congressional Affairs and Relations to the Special Operations Community at National Defense University, during which time also served as an expert in the Boston Marathon bombing trial. He appears frequently in the international media, including BBC, FOX, Sky News, and CNN, and has briefed the CIA, FBI, DIA, USASOC, and the Navy SEALS. 

His New York Times best-selling book, Defeating Jihad: The Winnable War, examines the jihadi movement and lays out a plan to defeat it.
