Audun Halvorsen
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Norway

Mr. Audun Halvorsen (b. 1978) is State Secretary to Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide, in the Government of Prime Minister Erna Solberg. He has held this position since 2017. Mr. Halvorsen is a member of the Conservative Party of Norway.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Halvorsen was Political Adviser to then Minister of Defense, Ine Eriksen Søreide (2013-17). Before his time in government, he was Political Adviser on defense policy and foreign affairs for the Conservative Party Parliamentary Group. He has also held various party and elected positions for the Conservative Party in Oslo.

Mr. Halvorsen holds a Cand Mag. degree in political science, public law and private law from the University of Oslo, Norway. He served in the Norwegian Army from 1997-98, and he is married, with two children.
